PLN Urges Public to Remain Vigilant, Power Outages in East Java Still Possible
PLN states that the recovery of the East Java electricity system is ongoing, even though the power plant that experienced disruptions has resumed operations. The public is urged to report any further power outages immediately.
UPDATEYUK - The public in East Java is asked to remain vigilant against potential power outages, even though the electricity system recovery process is ongoing. PT PLN (Persero) admits that the electricity supply condition is not yet fully stable after a previous disruption at one of the power plants supplying the Java electricity system.
Several areas have indeed returned to normal electricity supply. However, PLN emphasizes that the normalization process is still being carried out gradually to ensure system reliability is maintained.

Power Plant Recovery Has Not Made the System Fully Stable
Senior Manager of Communication and General Affairs of PLN UID East Java, Kemas Abdul Gaffur, said that the power plant that previously experienced disruptions has now resumed operations.
The resumption of operations at the power plant is an important step in strengthening the power supply to the Java electricity system. Nevertheless, PLN admits that a comprehensive system recovery still requires time.
The electricity supply returning to the grid is being done gradually to maintain system stability and prevent further disruptions that could occur during the normalization process.
This condition makes PLN unable to confirm that all areas will be completely free from potential power outages in the near future.
Customers Asked to Report Outages Immediately
Amidst the ongoing recovery process, PLN asks the public to report immediately if they find any power outages in their respective areas.
"If an outage occurs in a specific location, customers can immediately report it through the PLN Mobile application, and PLN officers will handle it as quickly as possible," said Kemas in his statement, quoted on Tuesday (23/6/2026).
According to PLN, customer reports are an important part of accelerating the handling of any disruptions found in the distribution network or other electricity infrastructure.
Through the PLN Mobile application, customers can submit reports directly so that officers can immediately conduct checks in the field.
PLN Has Not Announced a Target for Recovery Completion
PLN also apologizes to the public for the inconvenience caused during the electricity system recovery process.
The company stated that various system strengthening measures are still being carried out to ensure the electricity supply returns to being reliable and stable in all affected areas.
"We express our gratitude for the understanding, support, and cooperation of all customers, the public, and stakeholders during the electricity system recovery process," he said.
As of now, PLN has not specified which areas are still affected by the outages or the target time for the complete recovery of the system.
This situation leads to the public in several areas being asked to continue monitoring official information from PLN while reporting any ongoing power outages in their neighborhoods. (*)
