Transjakarta Bus Hits Divider on MT Haryono, Driver Injured, Lane Temporarily Disrupted
UPDATEYUK – A Transjakarta bus accident occurred in the Cikoko area, East Jakarta, on Monday (22/6/2026) morning. Although the vehicle sustained considerable damage after hitting the busway separator, TransJakarta services around the location are confirmed to continue operating normally.
The incident involved a Transjakarta bus that was en route to its starting point and was not carrying passengers. The event occurred around 05.10 WIB in front of Menara Hijau Cikoko, Jalan MT Haryono.
Transjakarta confirmed that the service operations were not disrupted after the vehicle evacuation process was completed by joint officers.
TransJakarta Services Return to Normal After Evacuation
Head of Transjakarta's Public Relations and CSR Department, Ayu Wardhani, stated that no customers were inside the bus when the accident occurred.
“We confirm that there were no customers inside the bus when the incident happened. The bus hit a concrete separator while en route to its starting point,” said Head of Transjakarta's Public Relations and CSR Department, Ayu Wardhani, in a written statement.
According to Ayu, the evacuation process for the TransJakarta bus that had an accident lasted until around 08.20 WIB. After the evacuation was completed, services at several affected bus stops resumed as usual.
“The evacuation was completed since 08.20 and services at Cikoko Bus Stop and Tebet Eco Park Bus Stop have returned to normal operations serving customers,” Ayu concluded.
Chronology of TransJakarta Bus Accident in Cikoko
Based on information from the police, the Transjakarta bus accident began when the vehicle was traveling from east to west on Jalan MT Haryono.
While passing in front of Menara Hijau Cikoko, the bus allegedly lost control and hit the busway separator on the left side of the road.
Head of Sub-Directorate for Law Enforcement of the Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Directorate, Police Commissioner Ojo Ruslani, explained that preliminary examination results indicate that a lack of caution and concentration were the initial causes of the incident.
“Upon reaching the crime scene in front of Menara Hijau Cikoko, it is suspected that due to a lack of caution and concentration, the vehicle hit the busway separator,” said Head of Sub-Directorate for Law Enforcement of the Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Directorate, Police Commissioner Ojo Ruslani when confirmed on Monday (22/6/2026).
The strong impact caused significant damage to the front of the bus.
Driver Injured and Taken to Hospital
As a result of the Transjakarta bus accident, the driver with the initials DA (34) sustained injuries to his face, particularly on his forehead and temples.
Officers at the scene immediately provided initial treatment and evacuated the victim to the hospital for medical attention.
“The driver suffered injuries, and the victim was subsequently taken to Tebet Hospital for treatment,” said Ojo.
Fortunately, there were no fatalities or civilian casualties in the incident. Police are still investigating the exact cause of the accident involving the Transjakarta vehicle.
